Darcy Doe Releases Music Video For ‘Fitzroy Baby’
When I was just a wee lad, I ripped the head off one of my sister's Barbie dolls. Obviously, I was a little shit and I should have been filled with shame, but I never was. That was until I watched the video for ‘Fitzroy Baby’ by Darcy Doe.
In this new video directed by Alisha Todd (who is a fantastic musician herself. Check out her band GENIIE BOY), Darcy Doe’s dolls come to life and have a banger of a day. They have a tea party in the park, start a band and dance like they’ve never danced before. Check out the video below.
As the tough alpha-boy I was, I obviously didn’t play with dolls. What I had instead were action figures (which are basically dolls for people who are emotionally insecure). Watching this video made me wonder, what would a day in the life of my favourite childhood doll action figure, Action Man, look like if he suddenly became a real boy. I reckon his day would start with a 2-hour binge of Andrew Tate videos. He’d follow this up by listening to an 8-hour podcast about cars before finishing up the day by heckling female comics at an open mic night. I think I prefer Darcy’s video more.
In conclusion, I’d like to formally apologise for the unspeakable pain I’ve caused to my sister's Barbie doll, that doll's family and the wider Barbie community.
