KEZRA Releases Music Video For New Single ‘Back Home’

Promise to keep this between you and me, but I am not a fan of music videos. Don’t get me wrong, I fully respect the amount of work that goes into them and I somewhat understand their place in the music industry. But more often than not, I’m left feeling a little ‘meh’ after watching one. That doesn’t mean I’ve never enjoyed a music video in my life. Anything by the Foo Fighters is often a barrel of laughs, and ‘The Hardest Button To Button’ by The White Stripes is pure genius. Another one I’ll have to add to that list is ‘Back Home’ by KEZRA.

Oh my goodness, what a stunning video. Directed by Gemma Carfi, there is something so beautiful about the simplicity of this video. Much like the song itself, the video for ‘Back Home’ is quite bare-bones. No scenic locations, no costumes that look like they belong on a runway, just KEZRA, alone in the dark, singing through the camera lens straight into your soul.

As someone who does not do eye contact, the amount present in this video made me a tad uncomfortable, but in a good way. It almost felt as if KEZRA was telling me I’m responsible for her heartbreak (I swear to god I’m not). Talk about immersion, am I right?.

You can check out the music video and listen to ‘Back Home’ right now.
